Busola Tejumola, MultiChoice’s Executive Head of Content and Channels, West Africa, spoke at the occasion and underlined the AMVCA’s long-term dedication to the Nollywood sector.
Tejumola pointed out that the event was a long-term initiative that has developed over time to support the expansion of the sector.
“We are dedicated to developing the industry, creating and disseminating the best local content on the continent, and building capacity.”
Tejumola stated, “The AMVCA keeps changing every year, and this year is unique because it features up-and-coming artists who will advance the industry over the next ten years.”
According to Tejumola, the key to keeping viewers engaged is to create content that is relatable and resonates with them.
“The AMVCA has also had a significant impact on the careers of young artistes, with over nine billion Naira invested in the awards over the past 11 years.
“Additionally, the MultiChoice Talent Factory provides young filmmakers with a one-year development programme to hone their skills,” she said.
