The APC South-South endorses Tinubu as its sole candidate for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election during a stakeholders’ meeting.
The meeting, held Saturday, also saw APC adopting governors of Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, and Delta for re-election.
Julius Ihonvbere moved the motion to adopt the communique, with Senator Adams Oshiomhole seconding the proposal during deliberations.
Victor Giadom, APC National Vice Chairman (South-South), read the resolution highlighting Tinubu’s transformational leadership and regional infrastructure development efforts.
He stated that APC South-South endorses Tinubu due to impactful projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road now under construction.
Giadom commended the president for establishing the South-South Development Commission to accelerate development across the geopolitical zone.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio also received commendation for uniting the region and promoting Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Giadom extended an open invitation to Rivers and Bayelsa Governors, urging them to join APC for regional consolidation.
He praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for actively supporting Tinubu and transforming Abuja’s infrastructure with visible achievements.
Acting APC National Chairman Ali Dalori thanked South-South leaders and reiterated Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive multi-party democracy.
Dalori emphasized that the Tinubu government has no intention to transform Nigeria into a one-party political system.
Senate President Akpabio stated the APC South-South endorses Tinubu because of renewed political alignment and development progress.
He hinted that Rivers Governor Sim Fubara and Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri may soon join APC officially.
Edo Governor Okpebholo praised Tinubu’s support, saying the region is benefiting from improved governance and visible federal commitment.
