President Bola Tinubu has dismissed the 2027 opposition coalition, describing its members as mere Political Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
He made the statement while addressing supporters during a town hall meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Thursday.
Tinubu urged citizens to ignore the 2027 opposition coalition, confidently declaring it poses no threat to his administration’s progress.
“Those behind this coalition are political IDPs who will remove themselves, not me,” the President stated without hesitation.
He praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for executing infrastructure projects and aligning fully with his Renewed Hope development agenda.
Tinubu encouraged the governor to continue focusing on agricultural growth alongside solid mineral development across Nasarawa State.
He assured Nasarawa residents that his administration would empower farmers through loans, small-scale financing, and youth-targeted initiatives.
“I’ve seen your rice farms and mechanisation progress; we’ll support you to expand and boost food production,” Tinubu said.
The President emphasized that solid minerals must not overshadow agriculture, which remains crucial for jobs and economic inclusion.
According to Tinubu, farming must become profitable and attractive for young people and women across all local communities.
He stated that collaboration between the federal government and states like Nasarawa would drive national growth and rural development.
Governor Sule thanked Tinubu for the visit and support, citing gains from subsidy removal and increased federal allocations.
He attributed Nasarawa’s current progress to federal funding initiatives and proactive economic policies encouraged by the Tinubu administration.
Sule also appealed to the President to restart halted oil exploration activities that began across the state in 2023.
As the 2027 opposition coalition gathers momentum, Tinubu remains firm, focusing instead on tangible governance and long-term prosperity goals.
His comments reflect confidence in defeating any 2027 opposition coalition without losing focus on national transformation and regional empowerment.
