Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has boasted that President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 second-term ambition is unassailable, praising the leader for rescuing the country from economic ruin.

Speaking at the Government House in Benin during a visit by the South-South Monarchs’ Forum, Okpebholo urged the region’s traditional leaders to support President Tinubu’s reelection.

The governor urged the monarchs to back the President’s initiatives, especially in addressing national insecurity, and underlined the vital role that traditional institutions play in the advancement of the nation.

“The development of our nation cannot be achieved without the active support of our royal fathers,” he said.

He praised the President’s economic measures, saying they were designed to boost the country’s economy and raise Nigerians’ standard of living.

“President Tinubu has accomplished a great deal for our country, and he has made some audacious choices and actions to set the country up for future growth and prosperity.

“The President is focused on blocking leakages in the economy and ensuring that resources are used for the betterment of Nigerians. He has been able to increase allocations for states, and now states have money to concentrate on developmental projects.

“The people of the South-South zone must support President Tinubu because he is our own, and he needs to continue what he has started. The President is putting in place economic policies that will benefit the people. A second term for the President is non-negotiable,” he added.
