Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Yekini Adeojo, a distinguished
chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland.
Governor Makinde, who hailed Adeojo as one of the last great figures in the state’s political landscape, described his
death as the end of a glorious political era. He extended heartfelt condolences to Adeojo’s family, the PDP in Oyo
State, and the people of the state, calling the late leader an icon and patriot.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser (Media), Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Governor Makinde mourned
the passing of Adeojo, who was the PDP’s Governorship candidate in the 1999 election. The governor expressed his
sorrow at the loss of a man who had been a prominent political, community, and religious figure for decades.
He praised Adeojo for his decades of service to the state, acknowledging the significant void left by his death.
