Governor Soludo Celebrates Anambra State’s 33rd Anniversary with Vision for Future Growth

On Tuesday, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State marked the 33rd anniversary of the state with an inspiring speech focused on progress, unity, and a commitment to a better future.

Soludo’s address wasn’t just about celebrating the state’s history since its creation on August 27, 1991. It was also a call to action, reminding the people of Anambra of their shared goals and vision.

He highlighted how Anambra has evolved from its founding aspirations to become a leading economic force in Nigeria. Today, Anambra is one of the top six largest economies in the country, with some of the lowest poverty rates, reflecting its strong economy and hardworking residents.

A key point in Soludo’s speech was the transformation of Anambra’s cities. With 65-70% of the state now urbanized and Onitsha recognized as a major industrial hub in West Africa, Anambra shows the benefits of visionary leadership and teamwork.

Soludo praised the state’s achievements in education, noting that Anambra’s students excel on both national and international stages. His commitment to free public education has significantly reduced the number of out-of-school children and fostered a culture of excellence.

Beyond education, Soludo spoke about advancements in technology, infrastructure, and rural development, asserting that Anambra is a leader in these areas. The state also ranks second in Nigeria for the lowest infant mortality rate, thanks to strategic investments in healthcare.

Throughout his speech, Soludo honored past leaders like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chinua Achebe, whose legacies continue to inspire the people of Anambra.

He also acknowledged the crucial roles of women and youth in the state’s progress. Women are prominent in education and civil service, while the youth have shown resilience and creativity, even amid national challenges.

However, the governor recognized ongoing challenges, such as the threat of flooding. The state government is actively preparing to address these issues and ensure the safety of its residents.

Soludo concluded his speech with a call for collective effort.
