The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus in the House of Representatives has reaffirmed its commitment to the upcoming Edo State governorship election by pledging substantial support for the party’s candidates, Senator Monday Okpebholo and Hon. Dennis Idahosa. This support underscores the party’s dedication to securing a victory in the gubernatorial race scheduled for September 21.

In a statement released on Monday, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu, who is also the chairman of the APC Reps’ Fundraising Committee for the Edo State Governorship Election, revealed that the caucus has contributed a significant amount of N200 million towards the campaign efforts. This donation is a clear demonstration of the caucus’s solidarity and commitment to the party’s success in the upcoming election.

The statement detailed that the contribution was made by individual members of the APC who are part of the 10th House of Representatives. The donation process was meticulously coordinated under the leadership of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu, who has played a pivotal role in rallying support and resources for the party’s candidates.

This financial boost is intended to support various campaign activities, including outreach programs, advertisements, and other essential efforts aimed at securing voter support across Edo State. The APC Caucus’s financial contribution highlights their proactive approach and strategic planning to ensure a successful campaign.

The statement also emphasized the caucus’s unwavering support for Senator Monday Okpebholo and Hon. Dennis Idahosa, both of whom are currently serving as members of the National Assembly. Senator Okpebholo and Hon. Idahosa have been recognized for their competence and dedication in their respective public service roles. Their proven track records and commitment to their constituencies make them strong candidates for the governorship position in Edo State.

The APC Caucus’s support is seen as a crucial element in the party’s campaign strategy. By pooling resources and showcasing a unified front, the party aims to enhance its appeal to voters and demonstrate its readiness to lead Edo State towards continued development and progress.

The donation was formally presented by Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, the Leader of the House, during a ceremony attended by notable figures including Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, the Clerk of the House of Representatives; Hon. Billy Osawaru; and Prof. Jake Dan-Azumi, the Chief of Staff to the Speaker. Their presence at the event underscored the significance of the donation and the collective commitment of the APC Caucus to the governorship campaign.

The APC Caucus’s financial support reflects a broader strategy to mobilize resources and build momentum for the party’s candidates. With the election date approaching, the party’s efforts are geared towards engaging voters, addressing key issues, and showcasing the leadership qualities of Senator Okpebholo and Hon. Idahosa.
