Voting commenced at Eguare Primary School, Ward 2, Ujogba, in the Esan West Local Government Area at 8:30 am today. This event marks an important moment for the community as residents exercise their democratic rights to vote in the upcoming elections.

According to reports, a steady stream of voters arrived at the polling units, particularly Units 2, 3, and 11. Many community members expressed their eagerness to participate in the electoral process, highlighting the significance of their votes in shaping the future of their locality and the nation as a whole.

To ensure a smooth voting experience, personnel from the Nigeria Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were stationed at the voting centers. Their presence was intended to maintain peace and order, which is crucial during such significant events. Voters felt reassured knowing that law enforcement was there to handle any potential issues, allowing them to focus on casting their ballots.

After casting his vote, 70-year-old Pa Robert Aiguekhagbon shared his thoughts on the day’s proceedings. He praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of the voting exercise, noting that the environment was calm and conducive to voting.

“It is heartening to see our community come together in such a peaceful manner,” he remarked. Pa Robert emphasized the importance of maintaining this peaceful atmosphere throughout the day, encouraging everyone to respect the process and each other.

He also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to continue ensuring that the voting process remains smooth and transparent. This call for transparency is vital, as many citizens want to trust the electoral system and feel confident that their votes will count. Pa Robert’s sentiments reflect the hopes of many voters who wish for a fair and honest election.

Pa Robert encouraged those who had not yet voted to take the time to participate in the electoral process. He reminded them that every vote matters and that each individual’s participation contributes to the overall outcome of the elections. “We must all do our part,” he stated, urging his fellow citizens to approach the voting process with respect and calmness.

The atmosphere at Eguare Primary School was lively, with conversations buzzing among voters waiting in line. Many took the opportunity to discuss local issues and the candidates vying for their votes, showcasing a vibrant community engaged in democratic dialogue.

As the day progresses, it is expected that voter turnout will continue to grow, reflecting the community’s commitment to actively participate in shaping their governance.
