The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has made a strong commitment to safeguard its votes in the upcoming local government elections, scheduled for October 24. In an interview on Thursday, Abdullahi Abbas, the party’s chairman in Kano, emphasized the importance of these elections for the APC and its supporters.He stated that the party is preparing to hold primary elections soon. This will allow candidates to emerge for all 44 local government areas in the state.
This process is crucial, as it will help the party organize and present a united front in the elections.”We are dedicated to ensuring that our many supporters actively participate in the elections,” Mr. Abbas noted. “The APC is mobilizing its members and supporters with a clear focus on protecting votes and ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
“He stressed that voter participation is vital for the party’s success and that every effort will be made to encourage turnout.In addition to mobilization, Mr. Abbas appealed to the state electoral commission. He called for a fair and enabling environment for all political parties involved. “We demand equal opportunity from the commission for all contestants to participate without showing any bias,” he said.”A transparent electoral process is essential. So is a peaceful atmosphere throughout the election period.”
