The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, widely known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has announced that the Federal Government of Nigeria has granted approval for the construction of an airstrip at Faith Tabernacle, located in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.

This exciting development was revealed during the Tehillah Night Special Edition, a program held at the Covenant University Chapel, also situated in Canaanland, on Sunday.Bishop Oyedepo, while addressing the congregation, expressed his enthusiasm over the Federal Government’s decision.

The airstrip, according to the church leader, will significantly ease his travel plans, allowing him to embark on journeys directly from the church premises without the need for helicopter flights to other airports.

This advancement, he explained, will also serve the wider community of church members who own private aircraft, as it provides a convenient location for them to land and park their planes.

He shared the exciting news, stating, “I am sure you will be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland.

I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going. Members with their planes will have where to land and park.

”This development is set to enhance transportation logistics for both the leadership of the church and the numerous worshippers and visitors who frequent the Faith Tabernacle. With the construction of the airstrip, large-scale events held by Winners Chapel, which typically attract thousands of attendees from across Nigeria and around the globe, will now be easier to manage, particularly with regard to the movement of people to and from the church’s premises.

The airstrip is seen as a step toward improving access for those attending these massive gatherings, reducing the complexities that often come with transportation during major programs.

In addition to announcing the approval of the airstrip, Bishop Oyedepo took the opportunity to speak directly to his congregation, particularly the younger members, encouraging them to discover and pursue their purpose in God’s plan.He highlighted the success stories of Covenant University graduates who have gone on to become pilots, some of whom now fly him to his destinations.

Covenant University, an institution founded by the church, has produced graduates who have excelled in various fields, and Bishop Oyedepo used their achievements as an example to inspire the younger generation. He remarked, “Won’t you be glad to know that there are some captains that fly me who are graduates of Covenant University? We don’t have an aviation department here, but they found their place in God and went after it.

That’s what this university is all about, it’s not about boxing you up. It’s about allowing you to locate God’s plan and pursue it accordingly.”Bishop Oyedepo’s message emphasized the importance of self-discovery and the pursuit of individual calling, urging young people not to waste the opportunities they have but to strive to find their path in life.

His words reflected his broader vision for Covenant University, which he described as a place that encourages students to explore their unique potential and follow God’s plan for their lives. He further advised the youth, warning them against idle living and reminding them that life is precious, stating, “Young people, don’t play away your life, you don’t have a spare.

“The Tehillah Night special edition was a notable event as it also served as a moment of gratitude and celebration for Bishop Oyedepo, who had recently celebrated his 70th birthday in September.

The program, designed as a thanksgiving service, allowed the congregation and members of the Living Faith Church to come together in appreciation of the bishop’s life and leadership. His milestone birthday marked a significant occasion for the church, and the special thanksgiving was a chance to honor his contributions, not only to the faith community but also to education and the empowerment of young people through institutions like Covenant University.

As the airstrip project moves forward, it is expected to not only serve as a convenience for the leadership of Winners Chapel but also to enhance the overall experience for worshippers and visitors alike.

The construction of this facility marks another significant achievement in the ongoing expansion of Canaanland, which has long been a central hub for religious activities and development under the leadership of Bishop Oyedepo.

The new airstrip is poised to further solidify the church’s status as a major religious and institutional center in Nigeria, attracting worshippers from all walks of life and making transportation to and from the site more efficient.
