Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, is currently in detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.
The highly controversial personality who has been in the news lately was reportedly arrested by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) while attempting to exit the country through the Seme border. Sources confirmed that he was taken to the FCID for safekeeping on Monday night.
A reliable source revealed that Bobrisky was brought into the FCID facility around 10 p.m. on Monday after spending the previous night in detention. “He is in detention at the FCID, Alagbon. He was arrested on Sunday, detained overnight, and then transferred here for further interrogation,” the source explained. His arrest has sparked a wave of public interest as many await further developments regarding the reason for his attempted exit.
The spokesperson for the FCID in Lagos, Mayegun Aminat, confirmed Bobrisky’s detention on Tuesday, stating that he remains in custody and will soon face remand proceedings. “He is with us, and we are in the process of obtaining a remand to keep him in custody,” she said. No further details have been released on the exact charges or allegations against him.
Earlier reports from the NIS spokesperson, Kenneth Udo, indicated that Bobrisky was flagged as a person of interest over undisclosed matters of public concern. Udo noted that his arrest was part of the agency’s continued effort to secure Nigeria’s borders and assured the public that Bobrisky will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
