Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele is set to deliver a lecture on local government administration in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Friday. The event, titled “Local Government Administration in Nigeria: Challenges, Perspectives, and Way Forward,” will be held at Ikorodu Town Hall as part of the 50th birthday celebrations of grassroots politician Japhet Adesanya, who is running for local government chairman.
The keynote address will be delivered by former Lagos State Head of Service, Babatunde Rotinwa. The lecture aims to address the challenges faced by local government administration in Nigeria and explore possible solutions for improvement.
The event will be chaired by Fola Tinubu, Managing Director of Premero, with notable dignitaries expected in attendance. These include the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi, and prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders such as Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Olorunfunmi Basorun, and Cardinal James Odunmbaku.
Also expected at the event are Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, Senator Wasiu Eshinlokun, Lanre Odesanya, Adeola Jokomba, traditional rulers, and representatives from various women and youth groups.
