The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has once again postponed its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which was originally scheduled for tomorrow. The decision was made during an enlarged meeting of the party’s Governors’ Forum on Tuesday evening, according to a statement by the Forum’s chairman, Bala Mohammed.
The meeting was attended by key party stakeholders, including members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), National Working Committee (NWC), National Assembly Caucus, and the Forum of Former Governors. Bala Mohammed confirmed that the NEC meeting will now take place on November 8, 2024.
The postponement, according to the statement, aims to ensure that the party presents a united front in the upcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections on November 16, 2024. The PDP is determined to build the necessary strength to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state.
The party believes that rescheduling the NEC meeting will help focus its efforts on the Ondo election, strengthening internal unity and boosting its chances for success.
