No Area Left Out in Ogun State’s 2025-2027 Development Plans—Governor Dapo Abiodun: 

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has assured that no part of the state will be excluded from the developmental projects outlined in the 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the 2025 budget. According to him, the projects are evenly distributed across the three Senatorial Districts, in line with the state’s 2024 budget.

Speaking during a town hall meeting on the MTEF and 2025 budget held at Bisi Rodipe Event Centre, Ijebu-Ode, the governor, represented by the Chief Economic Adviser and Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, emphasized that key projects, including road reconstructions, have been approved in the Ogun East Senatorial District. Among these are the Imoro-Imegun-Opopo road, Igbeba-Eid praying ground to Prison road, Imoru road, and Odelewu-Ladeshi-Ishiwo road.

Despite financial constraints, Governor Abiodun reiterated his administration’s focus on expanding infrastructure, particularly in rural areas. He highlighted that over 64 kilometres of rural roads are being constructed across the state, aimed at improving rural access and boosting agricultural productivity. This, he noted, underscores his government’s commitment to inclusive development despite fiscal pressures.

In partnership with Lagos and Oyo States, Ogun State has also procured 25 patrol vans and surveillance drones to enhance security along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. These measures, the governor said, are part of efforts to ensure the safety of residents and commuters along the busy route.

Furthermore, Governor Abiodun disclosed that the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport is nearing completion, positioning Ogun as a major logistics hub in West Africa. He also highlighted the completion of over 600 kilometres of roads across the state, with 243.3 kilometres of those roads in the Ogun East Senatorial District alone.

Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, in his remarks, noted that 340 out of 377 inputs gathered during last year’s town hall meetings have been implemented, with the remaining 40 set to be included in the 2025 budget. He urged residents to continue submitting inputs to ensure their needs are reflected in the state’s development plans.
