Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has encouraged members of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream I National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to accept their posting to the state with a positive attitude and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development. The governor made this call during the swearing-in ceremony at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp at Government College, Kaduna. His message was delivered by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu.
In his address, Governor Sani congratulated the corps members on completing their academic studies and described the NYSC scheme as a vital tool for fostering unity and national growth. He reassured them that his administration would support them throughout their service year, emphasizing that Kaduna is known for its hospitality and that corps members should take full advantage of the orientation course to prepare for the year ahead.
Sani also assured the corps members of their safety and the state’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for their service. He emphasized that his government is dedicated to maintaining peace and security, expressing confidence that the corps members would make valuable contributions to the development of the state.
The NYSC State Coordinator also addressed the corps members, urging them to engage fully in the orientation activities, particularly the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program. The program aims to promote economic independence and equip corps members with practical skills for their future careers. The coordinator encouraged the corps members to take the opportunity to enhance their personal and professional growth.
Governor Sani formally declared the orientation course open, urging the corps members to participate wholeheartedly in all the activities. He emphasized the importance of the friendships they would form during the program, which could last a lifetime. The ceremony concluded with the governor reiterating his administration’s commitment to ensuring a successful and fulfilling service year for all corps members in Kaduna State.
