According to Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s goal is to win Rivers State away from the PDP by 2027. The APC national chairman added the aim is to bring Rivers into the fold and increase APC’s states in the zone to three.
This was announced by Mr. Ganduje at the state working committee’s inauguration on Saturday in Port Harcourt. Top party officials followed him and reaffirmed their support for the state’s new Exco.
Victor Giadom, the party’s national South-South vice chairman, stated in his speech that the party is preparing to seize power in the state.
Despite concerns about the constitutionality of the procedure, this inauguration took place.
The national legal adviser administers the oath of office to the Exco.
The Exco commander commends his staff in his vote of appreciation, stating that they have performed admirably.
However, the national chairman wants to add Rivers to the APC’s ranks and make three states in the region.
Even though the Tony Okocha-led Exco is recognized by the party’s NWC, Emeka Beke is the party’s chairman in the state according to a court ruling that has not been revoked, and it is still unclear how it will impact the party in 2025.
