In a bid to provide relief for Nigerians ahead of the Christmas and New Year holiday season, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the reduction of the price of its petrol to N899.50K per litre. The refinery also said consumers can purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought on a cash basis.
The company’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, stated in a statement that the price reduction is meant to save transportation costs throughout the holiday season. The refinery added that consumers can buy an additional litre of fuel on credit for each litre of fuel paid for using cash.
In November, the privately owned refinery reduced the price of its gasoline to N970 per litre.
“Dangote Refinery is providing a festive discount on PMS in order to save transportation expenses this holiday season. Starting today, our truck loading gantry, or SPM, will sell our gasoline for N899.50 per litre.
Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” said Chiejina.
With a 650,000 barrels per day (BPD) capacity, the refinery’s spokesperson also thanked Nigerians for their ongoing support as the nation approaches the holiday season.
Chiejina also underlined the refinery’s dedication to making sure Nigerians have access to reasonably priced, high-quality petroleum products that are engine- and environmentally friendly.
He emphasized that the refinery’s activities signal the end of Nigeria serving as a landfill for inferior and “blended” imports, which have presented serious hazards to the environment, machinery, and public health.
