Announcing the appointments on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, highlighted that the new officials were selected based on merit and competence. The list includes 93 Supervisory Councillors and 67 Special Assistants. Ojo emphasized that the inclusion of PWDs reflects the government’s recognition of the talents and potential of all individuals, regardless of their physical abilities.
“These appointments align with Governor Makinde’s vision for sustainable development and ensuring that every segment of society has a voice in governance. The appointees are expected to contribute meaningfully to enhancing service delivery at the grassroots level,” Ojo stated.
The commissioner urged the newly appointed officials to prioritize the welfare of their communities and collaborate with stakeholders to address local issues effectively. He stressed the importance of working toward meaningful projects that align with the Makinde administration’s development agenda.
