New Katsina NSCDC Commandant Assumes Office

Aminu Datti Ahmad officially took over as the new commandant of the Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday, succeeding Jamilu Abdu Indabawa.

The transition was confirmed in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Hamisu, on Tuesday. The outgoing Commandant, Indabawa, expressed gratitude to the Corps and urged the personnel to support Ahmad in continuing the Command’s work with dedication and commitment.

In his address, Ahmad commended the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for his leadership in advancing the Corps’ mission and ensuring its effectiveness. He pledged to prioritise security, protect critical national infrastructure, enhance school safety, and improve disaster and crisis management in the state.

Ahmad also assured the Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, and residents of the state of his determination to ensure a safe and secure environment. He emphasized his focus on upholding the Corps’ mandates as guided by law.

The new commandant hails from Gwale, Kano State. His educational journey includes attendance at Jarkasa Special Primary School, Government Secondary School Gwale, and Bayero University Kano, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Hausa. He further advanced his education with a master’s degree in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control.
