Proposed Merger Deemed Futile By Former APGA Presidential Candidate, Okoye

A former presidential candidate affiliated with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), George Okoye, has expressed his belief that the proposed consolidation of certain opposition parties against President Bola Tinubu is futile. Okoye contends that President Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not performing as poorly as some mistakenly assume.
The former legislator from the Anambra State House of Assembly, who has been inactive in politics for several years, implored the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) not to allow the party to perish due to personal ambitions.

“The party’s leadership is apathetic; they are merely meandering, seeking guidance. A large-scale party is not viable in present-day Nigeria. The primary necessity for the PDP currently is to address its leadership dilemmas.
“If the government acts appropriately, acknowledge it, and offer criticism when it errs.
“We currently have a President in Nigeria, and I do not believe Bola Ahmed Tinubu is inadequate. I am satisfied with his performance thus far, though the PDP could present a superior option.
“The PDP’s predicament lies in the absence of trustworthy leadership. Once credible leadership is established, all other matters will be resolved,” Okoye concluded.
