Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has ordered the immediate payment of N548 million to the Nigerian Union of Teachers’ Endwell plan, which was withheld by the previous administration.
The fund’s release has concluded the union’s long-running industrial dispute with the Kaduna State Government.
The delivery of the money has thereby concluded the long-running labour dispute between the union and the Kaduna State Government.
Mubarak Mohammed, the acting Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board, declared at a news conference in Kaduna that the disagreement was settled through negotiations between the NUT and the Kaduna State Government.
He stated that the NUT Endwell Scheme will undergo structural restructuring to promote efficiency and accountability.
He stated, “I am pleased to announce that Governor Uba Sani has successfully resolved the long-standing dispute between the Kaduna State Government and the NUT over the NUT Endwell Fund.”
The NUT Endwell Fund provides mandatory deductions from teachers’ wages to help them during service and retirement.
”Under the agreement, all litigations related to the NUT Endwell Fund will be discontinued, and the sum of N548 million will be released to the NUT to manage the Endwell Fund independently,” the executive secretary disclosed.
The KASUBEB boss further disclosed that the administration of Governor Uba Sani has been committed to education and teachers since he assumed office in May 2023.

On his part, Kaduna State NUT chairman, Ibrahim Dalhatu, said that the released N548m would help to improve the welfare of teachers in the state and therefore thanked Governor Uba Sani for resolving the dispute.

“The release of the N548 million to the NUT Endwell Fund is a significant milestone in our efforts to improve the welfare of teachers in Kaduna State.“
