The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced an extension of the payment deadline for the 2025 Hajj to February 10, 2025. This decision was made in response to appeals from intending pilgrims who were unable to complete their registration and payment on time.

According to the Board Secretary, Mr. Saheed Onipede, the extension is in line with the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCOM). Onipede urged intending pilgrims to take advantage of the extension to complete their payment on or before the new deadline.

The initial deadline for payment was January 31, but the board recognized that many intending pilgrims were facing challenges in completing their registration and payment on time. The extension is expected to provide a welcome reprieve for these individuals.

The Hajj fare for this year is N8,784,085.59k, and intending pilgrims are advised to ensure that they complete their payment on or before the new deadline. The board has assured intending pilgrims that it will prioritize their welfare and comfort during the Hajj exercise.

The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has also encouraged intending pilgrims who are unable to pay the full fare to approach any commercial bank and raise a bank draft in favor of the board. This will enable them to complete their registration and payment.

The board has assured intending pilgrims that it will work closely with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCOM) to ensure a successful and hitch-free Hajj exercise. The board has also promised to prioritize the welfare and comfort of intending pilgrims during the exercise.
