Benjamin Omale, the Chairman of the Benue State APC Caretaker Committee, announced that over 80,000 members from various opposition parties are set to officially join the ruling APC in the state.
Speaking in Makurdi, he attributed the mass defection to growing support for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s inclusive governance and developmental achievements. Omale emphasized that the influx of defectors reflects the strong public trust in Governor Alia’s administration.
He highlighted that the governor’s commitment to rebuilding and transforming the state has resonated widely with party members and the general populace alike. According to Omale, this unprecedented defection is a clear endorsement of the administration’s policies, which have prioritized grassroots progress and community development across Benue State.
He noted that the APC is growing stronger each day as thousands from the opposition shift their allegiance. The chairman also lauded the Benue State House of Assembly for its unwavering commitment to judicial integrity, particularly praising its recommendation for the removal of the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Maurice Ikpambese. This move, he said, further cemented support for Governor Alia’s mandate and aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s broader political vision.
Omale extended special appreciation to the APC Elders Forum, led by Senator Barnabas Gemade, and to community development agencies across the 23 local government areas for their vital role in supporting the administration’s agenda during politically turbulent times.
He concluded by urging all APC members and well-meaning citizens to remain united in their support for Governor Alia. “Let us stand together to rebuild and transform Benue State,” he said, calling for continuous prayers for the governor’s guidance, protection, and wisdom as he leads the state toward greater heights.
