Cole Palmer Tipped for Liverpool Move as Potential Mohamed Salah Replacement

Chelsea’s young star Cole Palmer has been making waves in the Premier League, but former footballer Dwight Yorke believes the 22-year-old could eventually make a sensational switch to Liverpool. While Palmer is currently Chelsea’s standout performer, Yorke suggests that if Mohamed Salah leaves Anfield, Liverpool might look to bring in the attacking midfielder as a replacement.

Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer and quickly became a key player, contributing an impressive 33 goal involvements in the 2023-24 season. However, his current campaign has been more challenging, with Chelsea struggling to secure a top-four finish and Palmer enduring a seven-game goal drought. Despite speculation that he could leave Stamford Bridge if Chelsea misses out on the Champions League, Yorke does not believe Palmer would force an exit.

Speaking to CasinoBeats, Yorke explained that Palmer does not appear to be the type of player to demand a transfer simply because of a season without Champions League football. “He’s still very young, and he’s gone there and turned his career around. He’s the top man at Chelsea, so why would he leave?” Yorke questioned.

However, Yorke acknowledged that Liverpool could become an appealing destination for Palmer if Salah departs in the near future. “Liverpool might be an option if Mo Salah were to leave. That might be something they look to do, so watch this space,” he added. While Manchester United and Arsenal were also mentioned, Yorke dismissed them as potential destinations, citing Palmer’s Manchester City roots and the presence of Bukayo Saka at Arsenal.

Liverpool’s future squad planning remains uncertain, with Salah’s long-term status at the club frequently debated. If the Egyptian forward moves on, Palmer’s creativity and attacking prowess could make him a prime candidate for Jurgen Klopp’s side, especially given his rapid development in recent seasons.
