Arsenal made history on Tuesday night with a record-breaking 7-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League

last-16. The Gunners became the first away team to score seven goals in a knockout stage match, with Mikel Arteta’s

side putting on a dazzling display of attacking football.

The match got off to a blistering start, with Arsenal scoring three goals in the first half-hour. Jurrien Timber opened

the scoring in the 17th minute, before Ethan Nwaneri doubled the lead four minutes later.

Mikel Merino added a third goal for Arsenal in the 31st minute, and the Gunners went into halftime with a

commanding 3-0 lead. PSV pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute, but Arsenal restored their

three-goal cushion just seconds after the restart.

Martin Odegaard scored Arsenal’s fourth goal in the 46th minute, and Leandro Trossard added a fifth goal two

minutes later. Odegaard scored his second goal of the night in the 73rd minute, before Riccardo Calafiori rounded off

the scoring with a seventh goal in the 86th minute.

The win was Arsenal’s biggest away win in the Champions League, and it puts them in a commanding position ahead

of the second leg at the Emirates. The Gunners will be looking to complete the job and book their place in the

quarterfinals.

Arsenal’s performance was all the more impressive given their recent struggles in front of goal. The Gunners had

failed to score in three of their last four games, but they were back to their best against PSV.

Mikel Arteta’s side will now turn their attention to the Premier League, where they face Manchester United on Sunday

. The Gunners will be looking to build on their impressive win over PSV and keep their top-four hopes alive.

The defeat was a disappointing one for PSV, who had been hoping to cause an upset against the Gunners. The Dutch

side will now need to regroup and focus on their domestic campaign.
