Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on WhatsappShare on EmailShare on Telegram

Robin van Persie, the former Manchester United and Arsenal striker, has refused to take sides in the upcoming

Premier League clash between his two former clubs. Van Persie, who played for both United and Arsenal during his

illustrious career, was asked to choose between his former teammates and managers, but he diplomatically declined.

The Dutchman, who won the Premier League with Manchester United in 2013, was speaking to ESPN ahead of

Sunday’s highly-anticipated match between United and Arsenal. Van Persie was asked to choose between his former

United teammate Wayne Rooney and his former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry, but he replied, “Pass because

they’re both so different and very good.”

Van Persie’s neutral stance is likely to be welcomed by both sets of fans, who have often been divided by his decision

to leave Arsenal for Manchester United in 2012. The Dutchman’s move to United was seen as a betrayal by many

Arsenal fans, but he has always maintained that he made the decision to further his career.

Despite his controversial move to United, Van Persie has always spoken highly of his time at Arsenal, where he won

the FA Cup and was named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 2012. He has also praised his former Arsenal

manager Arsene Wenger, who he credits with helping him develop as a player.

Van Persie’s decision to remain neutral in the Manchester United vs Arsenal rivalry is likely to be seen as a diplomatic

move by the Dutchman, who has always sought to maintain good relationships with both sets of fans. His refusal to

choose between his former clubs is a testament to his professionalism and his desire to avoid controversy.

The upcoming match between Manchester United and Arsenal is expected to be a highly-competitive encounter, with

both teams seeking to gain an advantage in the Premier League table. United are currently struggling under new

manager Ruben Amorim, while Arsenal are looking to bounce back from a recent slump in form.

Van Persie’s experience of playing for both United and Arsenal gives him a unique perspective on the rivalry between

the two clubs. He has always spoken highly of the passion and intensity of the matches between the two teams, and

he is likely to be watching the upcoming match with great interest.

Despite his neutral stance, Van Persie’s legacy as a player is still widely debated among fans of both United and

Arsenal. Some fans view him as a traitor for leaving Arsenal for United, while others see him as a professional who

made a decision to further his caree
