The Kwara State Police Command has launched an investigation into the killing of the chairman of the Miyetti Allah
Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in the state, Alhaji Idris Abubakar.
Abubakar, 32, was reportedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen around 10 pm on Saturday in front of his residence at
Oke Ose, Ilorin East Local Government Area.
The state police spokesman, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident, stating that detectives recovered five
expended 7.62mm shells from the scene, and his remains had been deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching
Hospital Mortuary.
The Kwara State Police Command has assured that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and urged the public to
remain calm and provide useful information.
The Special Assistant to Kwara State on Inter-Community Relations (Fulani), Muhammed Abdullahi, also confirmed
the killing of Abubakar.
Abdullahi said that the assailants ambushed Abubakar and shot him at close range before fleeing the scene, leaving
him in a pool of blood.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association also confirmed the assassination of its chairman in a statement by its
Secretary, Alhaji Abdulazeez Mohammed.
The association described Abubakar’s death as a tragic loss and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
