President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, to use the Holy month of
Ramadan to pray for the country’s peace, unity, and prosperity. Speaking at a special Ramadan Tafsir and Iftar in
Ayetoro, Ogun State, Tinubu emphasized the importance of peace and unity for progress and prosperity.
Tinubu’s message was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, who
represented the President at the event. The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, had organized the
Ramadan Tafsir and Iftar in honor of his late mother.
The President’s call for prayers comes at a time when Nigeria is facing various challenges. Tinubu urged Nigerians
not to relent in asking God to strengthen the hands of the nation’s leaders to do good works that will usher in
prosperity.
Tinubu also commiserated with Dr. Salako over the loss of his mother, praying that God would grant the Salako family
the fortitude to bear the loss. He praised the qualities of the late Mrs. Salako, saying they would continue to be a
source of relief and bulwark for her son.

Dr. Salako thanked President Tinubu for his “fatherly role” and for being deeply involved in the burial of his late
mother. He also praised Professor Pate for exhibiting team spirit in his leadership style at the Ministry of Health and
Social Services.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele,
Senator Olamilekan Adeola, and Gboyega Nasir Isiaka. They donated generously towards the rebuilding of the
community mosque.
