The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the convictions of 32 individuals in Oyo State.

The convicts were prosecuted by the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate on separate one-count charges bordering on

impersonation and cyber-related offences.

The convictions were obtained before various courts in Ibadan, including the Oyo State High Court and the Federal

High Court. Justices Ladiran Akintola, O.S. Adeyemi, K.B. Olawoyin, and G.A. Sunmonu of the Oyo State High Court,

along with Justice Nkeonye Maha of the Federal High Court, handed down the sentences.

The convicts were sentenced to varying jail terms and community service, with some ordered to pay fines and

restitute their victims. The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, disclosed that the convicts pleaded

guilty to their respective charges and were sentenced accordingly.

The EFCC reiterated its commitment to clamping down on internet fraud and other financial crimes across the

country. This development is a significant milestone in the commission’s efforts to combat cybercrime and protect

Nigerians from online scams. In addition to the convictions, the EFCC also seized various items from the convicts,
