Yamal wins ‘Man of the Match’ against Mbappe, Dembélé and Doue

Spain International and Barcelona right-wing attacker, Lamine Yamal, was awarded Man of the Match in Thursday’s Nations League Semi-finals against France. Lamine is a top contender for the Ballon d’Or 2025, given his great performance for club and country in the 2024/25 season.

The 17-year old takes every match, especially big games, as new challenge. He is famously quoted for saying “the important thing is to talk on the field.” A deeply motivating philosophy he imbibes in proving his critics wrong.

Given Paris Saint Germain (PSG) champions league win just recently, many comparisons have emanated among football fanbases and online pundits, between Yamal vs Dembélé, and Yamal vs Doue.

Asked in an interview before Spain vs. France on his opinion on the Ballon d’Or debate, the Spanish wonderkid said “if people want to play on Thursday, we’ll play on Thursday,” hinting at going toe-to-toe with one of the contenders, Ousmane Dembélé.

Lamine Yamal scored two goals against France in a 5-4 win for Spain. His performance at the Nations league semi-final has rested doubts raised due to the champions league final. Again, he’d proven himself a worthy contender for the best player award Ballon d’Or.

Yamal will be playing against one of football’s greats, Christiano Ronaldo, on Sunday in Spain vs Portugal, in the Nations league final
