Comrade Babangida Declares for NYCN Presidency, Promises Sweeping Reforms and Youth Reawakening

Comrade Babangida Isah has officially declared his candidacy for the National President of the National Youth Council (NYCN).

Speaking in Lokoja, Isah promised to transform the NYCN into a responsive platform for progressive youth engagement and reform.

The event attracted youth leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, who expressed excitement about Babangida Isah NYCN President ambition.

He said his candidacy is a response to a patriotic call to reform and restore credibility to the NYCN.

Comrade Isah stressed that his motivation stems from an unwavering desire to serve Nigeria’s youth with courage and integrity.

He highlighted his leadership background, including roles as departmental president and NAES national president during his student years.

Babangida Isah NYCN President campaign also reflects his experience as NYCN Okene Coordinator and Kogi Central Forum Chairman.

In 2021, he chaired the NYCN State Congress Electoral Committee, earning acclaim for running a transparent, credible election process.

Appointed SSA on Youth and Students Affairs, Isah has continued this service under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administra Bold Reform Agenda

Babangida Isah bold reform agenda as NYCN’s President

Unveiling his agenda, Babangida Isah NYCN President bid focuses on youth employment, empowerment, digital literacy, civic engagement, and institutional transformation.

He proposed a National Youth Enterprise Fund, aimed at supporting startups with grants, mentorship, and technical capacity-building resources.

In education, he plans to establish tech hubs and reform the curriculum to integrate coding, robotics, and soft skills.

His mental health proposal includes nationwide counselling programmes, support centres, and public enlightenment campaigns for struggling young Nigerians.

To promote civic awareness, he plans a national political literacy campaign and youth quota advocacy in governance structures.

He pledged a National Peace Corps for youth-led conflict resolution and inter-ethnic unity through community-based security engagement.

Isah also promised NYCN digitisation and constitutional reforms to improve transparency, efficiency, and grassroots participation across the federation.

Stakeholders praised his ambition, saying his leadership could energise Nigerian youth and reshape the NYCN’s national relevance and credibility.
