Governor Dikko Radda has confirmed Buhari burial today, announcing it will take place in Daura by 2PM.
He said Buhari’s remains would arrive Katsina by noon, following consultations with family and close associates in London.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila travelled to London to retrieve Buhari’s body.
They were received by Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar and Governor Babagana Zulum, alongside other top Nigerian government officials.
Meanwhile, Buhari’s Daura residence swelled with mourners paying final respects to a leader deeply rooted in community.
Radda expressed condolences on behalf of Katsina State, honouring Buhari’s legacy and commitment to national unity and sacrifice.
He assured the late president would receive full state honours as directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Earlier, Tinubu ordered all flags flown at half-staff nationwide for seven days to honour Buhari’s service.
He described Buhari as a soldier, a patriot, and a statesman whose contributions shaped Nigeria’s democratic journey.
President Tinubu also summoned a special Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja to honour the late leader.
In Daura, commercial activities continued, but heavy security presence was observed near the Emirate Council and Buhari’s home.

Sulaiman Yarin-Katsina described him as generous, especially during Sallah when he supported the poor with rams and food.
