Nigerian Army troops are making significant gains in ongoing nationwide operations targeting terrorists and criminal syndicates.
Recent offensives resulted in enemy casualties, arrests, and the recovery of weapons, explosives, and stolen livestock across multiple states
Credible military sources confirmed that troops launched coordinated assaults on Friday across key operational zones nationwide.
The offensives led to the elimination of numerous terrorists, arrest of suspects, and the recovery of firearms and rustled animals.
In Borno State, troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade executed a precision ambush in Kaga Local Government Area.
The ambush, coordinated with Hybrid Forces and state security operatives, killed an Islamic State West Africa Province member.
Recovered from the scene were a Dane gun, a bicycle, and motorcycle parts, hampering insurgent mobility and logistics support.
Elsewhere in Borno, 26 ISWAP family members, including children, surrendered voluntarily across Gwoza, Bama, and Damboa communities.
A surrendered insurgent disclosed fleeing from a terrorist training base, highlighting growing internal pressure on ISWAP factions.
The military confirmed all surrendering individuals are being screened and profiled at secure military holding facilities.
In Chibok, Borno, troops from the 117 Task Force Battalion defused multiple improvised explosive devices planted by terrorists.
This action, supported by the Civilian Joint Task Force, prevented possible attacks on military convoys and civilian traffic.
In Niger State, troops executed a follow-up ground mission after an airstrike in Mariga’s Awallah Village, recovering stolen livestock.
Recovered animals included 95 cows, 37 calves, and 12 sheep believed to have been rustled by armed terrorist groups.
Forensic signs at the scene—blood trails and impact zones—suggest several high-value terrorist leaders were killed in the strike.
Meanwhile, troops operating in Taraba, Delta, and Bayelsa States arrested seven suspects linked to violent crimes and extremism.
Among those arrested was a known associate of a wanted terror kingpin, apprehended in Wukari, Taraba State.
In Delta, two suspected kidnappers were arrested in Ughelli North through a joint operation with Department of State Services operatives.
A woman believed to be a criminal informant was intercepted in Bayelsa’s Southern Ijaw with a male accomplice.
The accomplice was found with forged military ID and other illegal items including weapons, drugs, and tactical gear.
Authorities also recovered communication gadgets, narcotics, and radios, which are now part of an expanded criminal investigation.
Troops continue these operations to weaken terror networks and ensure security in conflict-affected communities across the nation.
With relentless pursuit and rising pressure, the Nigerian Army remains committed to eradicating terrorism and restoring nationwide peace.
