Police in Lokoja, Kogi State, have launched a manhunt for Oluwapelumi Adebayo over Ayo Aiyepeku murder case.
Oluwapelumi allegedly lured Ayo, a young photographer, to his poultry farm and brutally ended his life.
Witnesses claim the suspect stored Ayo’s body inside a refrigerator, loaded it in a van, and fled swiftly.
Later, Oluwapelumi reportedly returned to the crime scene, possibly to clean evidence or retrieve additional personal belongings.
However, some alert residents and vigilantes spotted him and quickly raised an alarm to notify local security personnel.
A violent chase began immediately as vigilantes fired at the van’s tires, forcing the vehicle to crash abruptly.
Oluwapelumi escaped on foot, vanishing into nearby bushes before anyone could apprehend or track him successfully.
As of now, neither the suspect nor the body of Ayo Aiyepeku has been located despite police efforts.
The victim’s grieving family is urging authorities to intensify their search and deliver justice without further delay.
Kogi Police Commissioner assured the public that officers are working around the clock to find the fleeing suspect.
