Team Nigeria 60-member contingent of student-athletes has arrived in Annaba, Algeria, the host city for the inaugural African School Games.
The team, comprising talented young athletes from various secondary schools across Nigeria, will compete in 10 diverse disciplines, including athletics, badminton, basketball, football, swimming, gymnastics, karate, judo, taekwondo, and table tennis.
The African School Games, organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), aim to promote sportsmanship, cultural exchange, and educational values among African youth.
Nigeria’s participation reflects the country’s commitment to fostering multi-sport excellence at the foundational level and nurturing young talent for future international competitions.
With robust support from the Nigerian government and the National Sports Commission, Team Nigeria is poised to make a strong impression in Algeria, showcasing their skills and dedication in the 10-day tournament from July 26 to August 5, 2025.
