The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has officially announced August 22 as the 2025–2026 season’s Week 1 schedule, kicking off yet another exciting domestic football season.
Delta State club, Warri Wolves will begin their campaign against Katsina United at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
Also, the match between newly promoted Barau FC and defending champions Enyimba FC is sure to be intense.
Supporters can’t wait to watch how Barau performs against the eight-time league champions.
Other games include Wikki Tourists’ North-Central derby against Plateau United and Rangers International’s home opener against another top tier debutant, Kun Kalifat FC.
In Ibadan, the Shooting Stars SC (3SC) will play Bayelsa United, while the Niger Tornadoes will play Nasarawa United.
In one of the most anticipated games of the first week, title contenders Remo Stars will face former champions Rivers United, while Katsina United will host Warri Wolves.
To close out the first weekend of play, Abia Warriors will host league heavyweights Kano Pillars, Kwara United will play Ikorodu United, and El-Kanemi Warriors will play Bendel Insurance.
