Abuja, Nigeria – EFCC chairman Ola Olukoyede firmly rejected claims that he caused NNPCL GCEO Bayo Ojulari resignation.
The denial came after media reports alleged Olukoyede and DSS Director General Adeola Ajayi coerced Ojulari into signing his resignation.
Reports further claimed Ojulari faced interrogation over alleged ties with British-Nigerian oil magnate Olatimbo Ayinde, linked to top officials.
EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale said Olukoyede—through lawyer Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN)—described the publications as false and reputationally harmful.
“The publications and imputations they carry are extremely damaging and cannot simply be ignored or brushed aside,” the statement said.
Olukoyede stressed he had never compromised public trust or allowed Ayinde, or any private individual, to influence his office.
He demanded a public apology and complete removal of the allegations for the NNPCL GCEO resignation from the publishing outlet’s platforms within forty-eight hours.
Olukoyede also warned that failure to meet these demands would trigger immediate legal action to protect his reputation.
