The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged President Bola Tinubu to start preparing his handover note, stressing that Nigerians will not renew his mandate in the 2027 general election.
Speaking on Friday in Yola, Hamza Madagali, Organising Secretary of the Adamawa PDP, declared that Nigerians have run out of patience with the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
Madagali argued that the APC lacks vision and direction, insisting that its policies remain both “human and economic unfriendly.” He added that Nigerians were now wiser and determined to end the Tinubu administration in 2027.
Furthermore, he pointed to the PDP’s successful ward congresses in Adamawa as proof of growing unity within the party. According to him, that unity could deliver victory in the next general election.
“If you check the composition of the National Convention committees, you will see that APC’s days at the presidency are numbered. Nigerians now know the difference between original and fake. The only way forward is to return PDP to power,” Madagali said.
APC Responds Strongly
In response, APC chieftain Seye Oladejo dismissed the PDP’s statement. He maintained that President Tinubu remains firmly in control and will secure re-election in 2027.
“More people are leaving the PDP daily. The party exists only on paper. No serious Nigerian should take it seriously. After the 2027 elections, PDP will finally fade away,” Oladejo said.
Therefore, while the PDP believes Nigerians are ready to end APC’s rule, the ruling party insists its support remains strong. The exchange highlights how both parties are already positioning themselves for the 2027 presidential election.
