In continuation of her routine distribution of funds to support the Benedicta’s Market Women, Benedica Attoh, the Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Area in Edo State, accompanied by members of Team Dr. Uyi Igbinadolor for Asue/Ogie, visited the Agenebode Main Market yesterday. They distributed N10,000 to each of the traders to aid their businesses.
While presenting the funds to the beneficiaries, which included vegetable, ‘pure water’, fufu, fish sellers, hawkers, and others at the market, Jude Ogbekile, the National Coordinator of Team Dr. Uyi Igbinadolor for Asue/Ogie, encouraged them to invest the financial assistance received from the US-based donor into their micro-businesses.
He expressed gratitude to the council chairman for the positive feedback regarding her efforts in human capital development, which was evident during the market visit.
In her address to the women, the council leader introduced Dr. Uyi Igbinadolor as the benefactor who donated N300,000 to support 30 women in need, emphasizing the importance of aiding the most vulnerable members of society due to the prevalent hunger caused by unfavorable government policies.
Additional women will be included in the assistance program in other areas of the local government in the coming days.
She characterized this support as a beacon of hope, promoting dignity, reducing poverty, and fostering self-sufficiency and growth. She called upon compassionate individuals to follow the example of Edo-born medical professional, Igbinadolor, by extending a helping hand to those most in need in society.
Attoh also expressed her appreciation to Sir Tonna Okei, a relative and friend residing in the United States, who facilitated the donation, highlighting Igbinadolor’s consistent efforts to bring joy to the less privileged in society.
She reassured that the distribution of financial aid to the underprivileged in various markets in Etsako East Local Government would continue at Okpekpe, Imiegba, and Okpella Markets.
