Former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana, has made a categorical statement. He declared that former President Goodluck Jonathan will contest the 2027 presidential election on the PDP platform and secure a victory. Speaking after the PDP Niger State Congress in Minna on Saturday, Gana offered a strong Jerry Gana Confirmation. Specifically, he stated that Nigerians have experienced other leaders since 2015. Therefore, they are now “yearning for his return” because the difference in governance is visible.
The Case for Jonathan’s Return as PDP 2027 Candidate
Gana anchored his assertion on the clear contrast between Jonathan’s tenure and subsequent administrations.
“In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan said his ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians,” Gana stated. Subsequently, another President ruled for eight years. Currently, the present leader has ruled for two years.
He stressed that the current state of the nation has led to a widespread desire for the former leader to step back into the political arena.
“Nigerians have seen the difference, and the difference is very clear. Therefore, Nigerians are now asking us to bring back our friend, former President Goodluck Jonathan,” he added.
Gana Confirms Jonathan Presidential Election Bid
Moreover, the former Minister directly addressed Jonathan’s participation in the upcoming polls, dispelling all doubts.
“I can confirm that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will contest the presidential election in 2027 as PDP candidate. In addition, we should be prepared to vote for him to return as President again,” Professor Gana declared, reinforcing the party’s strategy.
PDP Denies Crisis, Insists on People-Centred Mandate
Turning to internal matters, Gana dismissed any rumors of a PDP crisis. He assured stakeholders that the founding fathers have resolved internal disagreements.
He described the PDP as “truly democratic and grassroots-oriented.” Furthermore, he emphasized that the party’s people-centred programmes allow Nigerians to freely choose their leaders.
Concluding his address, Professor Gana issued a clear appeal for vigilance. He urged Nigerians to “shine their eyes” and vote out the present administration. Ultimately, he campaigned for the Goodluck Jonathan 2027 PDP bid, promising “good governance.”
