Senator Adams Oshiomhole has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan to retain his legacy by not giving in to pressure to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Oshiomhole made the statement while fielding questions on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
According to Oshiomhole, only Jonathan’s enemy want him to content in 2027.
He said the former president would be defeated in 2027 by the All Progressives Congress (APC), if he chose to contest.
“How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before, when PDP was truly PDP. If a man had PDP at its peak, I think it is only his enemies that will push him into the ring.
“That may not be helpful to him. I think he has managed to demonstrate that out of power you can be relevant and really at peace.
“If I will be able to advise him, I will say ‘Sir, maintain this status’. If I were him I will spend the rest of my life trying to find relevance, which he has already found,” Oshiomhole said.
