The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has said that the party came into existence to reset politics and democracy in Nigeria.
Abdullahi made this statement on Wednesday when he appeared as a guest in an interview on ‘Prime Time,’ a programme on Arise Television.
He said the ADC itself is a product of the government’s destabilisation of all the opposition political parties in the country.
“In 2014/2015 what you saw that birthed the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was a product of political strategy.
“But what has brought about the ADC now is a product of political necessity occasioned by governments intension to destabilize all other political parties.
“ADC is not just here for political power, ADC is here to reset politics and democracy in Nigeria.
“It was the conflict that shrouded the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that pushed someone like Atiku Abubakar out of the party to join the ADC. Same goes to some Labour Party’s members who have joined us,” he said.
