Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, who were captured by US forces from their Caracas compound in an extraordinary military operation, have arrived at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn in New York.
Recall that after his arrest, Maduro was flown out of Caracas in a US helicopter and taken aboard the USS Iwo Jima.
Arriving in New York, he was taken to the offices of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
According to US media, the Venezuelan President is expected to appear in court on drugs and weapons charges, which could happen as soon as Monday.
Meanwhile, he has previously denied being the leader of a drug cartel.
