Osborne, son of the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has obtained the chairmanship form for Ohaozara Local Government Area, in the forthcoming Ebonyi council polls.
Osborne was among aspirants endorsed by Governor Francis Nwifuru as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the election in the 13 LGAs of the state.
The endorsement drew diverse reactions from political observers across the state, with Umahi describing it as the height of appreciation by the governor.
Osborne, accompanied by well-wishers and supporters, obtained the N30million form at the party secretariat in Abakaliki on Friday.
However, he declined comments when approached by newsmen.
The State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Mr Francis Ori, who was present at the secretariat when the form was obtained, said that Osborne would be a worthy representative of the people.
“He is a chip of the old block and will replicate his father’s wonders in Ebonyi as former governor and as minister in Nigeria.
“The people are solidly behind him and would further demonstrate such support at the polls.”
