Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has declared that no local government area will have a candidate forced on it by his administration.
The governor reveled this at the recent flag-off ceremony of the APC electronic registration exercise, which took place at the Glass House in Lokoja.
He said party stakeholders must be given the freedom to choose candidates for all elective positions.
Governor Ododo explained that fairness remains a core value of the APC, adding that his government is committed to doing what is right by fully complying with the party’s constitution at all times.
He linked the growing confidence in the APC to the decisive reforms and leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that the party’s appeal has continued to rise as a result of noticeable economic progress across the country.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made our party the most attractive in Nigeria today. His policies are yielding results.
“The economy is gradually stabilising, the naira is strengthening, food prices are easing, and agriculture is taking centre stage once again. The beginning was tough, but it was necessary to build a stronger and more resilient nation,” he said.
“Let us open our doors wide for others to join the progressive family. Everyone who comes into this party is welcome and will be treated as an equal stakeholder,” he said.
