Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has reacted to the threat by three former governors of the State to drag him to Court for running the State’s functions from his private residence in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.
The Governor, who was responding to questions about the threat during his monthly media chat with journalists on Thursday, said that he had not breached the Nigerian constitution by operating from his residence.
He said his continued operation from his personal residence was because of the poor condition he met the Government House facility, when he took over leadership.
He stressed that reconstruction of the dilapidated Government House was ongoing, arguing that Abia people are more interested in good governance they are getting than where he (Otti) is operating from.
“Somebody said he will sue me for not operating from his house in Umuahia; well, I am waiting for the suit. My Lawyers are prepared.
“I have looked at the constitution and I didn’t see where there is a provision that I must operate from a place”, Otti said.
