About 28 vessels carrying petroleum products, containerised cargo and other commodities are scheduled to call at Lagos ports between February 19 and February 28, according to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The disclosure was contained in the NPA’s latest Shipping Position released on Thursday in Lagos.
The Authority said 20 of the incoming vessels were container ships conveying assorted goods, while the remaining eight ships were laden with crude oil, diesel, blended petroleum stock, aviation fuel and other general cargo.
The NPA further noted that 12 vessels, including tankers, have already arrived at Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port and Lekki Deep Sea Port, and are currently awaiting berthing.
These vessels are carrying bulk urea, aviation fuel, bulk wheat, general cargo, containers and petrol.
The Authority said 18 ships are presently discharging cargo across the ports, including general goods, bulk pallets, urea, gypsum, diesel, crude oil, wheat and trucks.
The NPA said the steady flow of vessel traffic reflects ongoing port activities and continued cargo throughput across Lagos’ major seaports.
