In the coming summer transfer window, one of the positions that FC Barcelona are looking to fortify is that of the left wing. The Catalans as of now have identified some names to play in this position and are still looking to reinforce their squad.
Such an operation would be very complex for the Blaugranes, because it would not only require looking for a suitable target but also for a candidate from their own squad to be sold to raise the required budget.
As Mundo Deportivo has noted, there are three primary targets that Barcelona have in their list for this summer, i.e. Luis Diaz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo.
The Liverpool winger is the favorite of Barcelona Sporting Director,Deco, but the Portuguese understands that aquiring Diaz would not be achievable without the sale of Raphinha, who is also valued very highly by the Catalans.
Luis Diaz tagged with high market in the summer, but might be a great replacement for Raphinha since both players are of comparable age and are very developed at a competitive level, while also being a strong force in attacking forward. The Brazilian, at Catalonia, has a lot of offers on the table, especially from Saudi Arabia.
Nico Williams is also a well known option at Barcelona, but he has fallen down the pecking order as he is more youthful in age than Raphinha, and perhaps lacking the experience that Deco is looking for. Still, he could be an exceptionally disruptive player, but is behind other candidates in terms of goalscoring, at this point in his career.
Moreover, Barcelona will have to pay his full €58 million release clause to be able to sign him, as Athletic Club would not okay any payment in installments. So also, his wages would be very hihg as the Basque clubs ordinarily offer high wages to hold their gifted footballers, and Nico would be looking to further increase his wages with a move to the Catalan capital.
Deco is concerned also that on the off chance that he chooses Nico, the Barcelona forward line will have two exceptionally youthful wingers, i.e. Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, who will be 17 and 21 a short while, respectively.
Finally, Dani Olmo is also admired in Blaugranes capital, basically because of his vasaltile way of play.. In any case, isn’t as proficient as the other two candidates in taking on defenders , and his €60 million release clause is also expiring on July 15th.
In the interim, his early training at the Barcelona academy goes in his favor, whereas the Catalans also believe that RB Leipzig would allow them to pay for him in installments.
Before making a choice in this regard, Barcelona will also have to keep in mind the three wingers they have already in their squad, i.e. Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, and Joao Felix, and also understanding that Lamine Yamal is the chosen one for the right-wing, and a modern player will as it were be able to play on the left wing.
