Arsenal continued their spirited push for the Premier League title on Saturday as they swatted aside Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
After a slow start where Bournemouth withstood wave after wave of Arsenal pressure and Gabriel Magalhaes almost gifted the Cherries an opener with a loose pass, the Gunners took the lead in the 45th minute after Kai Havertz was brought down in the box by goalie Mark Travers, with Bukayo Saka stepping up to coolly slot the ball into the net for his 16th goal of the season.
Leandro Trossard doubled Arsenal’s lead in the 70th minute, bending the ball past Travers following a tidy layoff from Declan Rice to put Arsenal firmly in the driving seat.
Rice got in on the action in the 97th minute, thumping an emphatic finish past Travers’ near post after he was slotted in by substitute Gabriel Jesus.
The win ensured Arsenal remained right in the thick of the championship hunt with two games to play, with the clean sheet also ensuring that Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya claim outright possession of the Golden Glove for most clean sheets kept in the season.
