Akwa-Ibom Police Chief Issues Dire Warning on Officers Conduct

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, has cautioned officers and men of the Command against unprofessional conduct, emphasizing that the Command will not hesitate to address any individual engaged in misconduct and unprofessional behavior.
The commissioner issued the warning following his comprehensive inspection of the 31 local government areas of the state, including the Area Commands, Divisions, and Formations. During his interactions with the officers and men of the Command, he reassured them of the management’s unwavering commitment to their well-being, urging them to maintain a high level of professionalism. Ayilara also pledged that under his leadership, the Command will strive to uphold the rights of the citizens through the established Police Complaint Response Unit within the Command.

The state Police Chief sought the cooperation of the local government chairmen and stakeholders in combating crimes within the state. He reiterated that the police force under his Command will continuously develop and implement strategic security measures to prevent criminal activities in Akwa Ibom State. Ayilara, emphasizing his dedication to ensuring the security of lives and properties in the state, expressed his receptiveness to constructive criticism and contributions from the citizens and public-spirited individuals. He emphasized his role as a servant dedicated to serving diligently rather than a master, with an open-door policy for feedback.
The purpose of his tour was to evaluate the conditions of the divisions, engage with stakeholders, gather local intelligence, and interact with members of the communities in the state. Accordingly, CP Ayilara called for a collaborative partnership from all stakeholders to enhance crime prevention efforts in the state.
